Yoga Guidance with Lauren

In-Person Sessions are held in my home yoga studio.
- This space has room for two people in one āsana session
- Or 4 in a meditation or lecture-style session

Online sessions can be 1:1 or small groups of up to 6 to ensure everyone receives answers to their personalised questions within the session.
Welcome Avid Yogi,

I see you; I am you. And this path of yoga we walk together can feel daunting and overwhelming, yet full of wonder and inspiration.

Perhaps there is an aspect of your physical practice that needs closer attention. You may want support with sleep, stress or meditation. You might be curious about Sanskrit, mantra or the stories and philosophies that sit beneath the postures.

A group class can open the door. A one-to-one session gives us time to wander through it together.
After more than twelve years of teaching, studying and practising yoga, I have gathered a broad knowledge of its many interwoven paths. I still ask questions. I still return to my teachers and mentors. Yoga is far too vast to be neatly mastered.

What I can offer is a guiding hand.
Together, we can quieten some of the noise, explore what genuinely interests you and create a practice that feels relevant to your body, your life and your curiosity.

You are welcome to choose one particular area of focus as below or weave several threads together within the same session.

How it works...
Below are three broad areas of yoga which we can dive into. From movement, meditation, relaxation and language. Choose one or interweave a couple together.

Āsana and Embodied Movement
Picture
Your body does not need to fit itself into a predetermined shape.
These sessions give us time to explore how movement feels in your particular body.

We may work with:

- Strength, mobility, stability
- Breath & movement
- Personal modifications
- Injury recovery
- Alignment confidence
- Supportive touch
- Creating a home practice.

Rather than chasing the appearance of an āsana, we will explore its purpose and how it might best serve you.

Meditation, Prāṇāyāma & Mudrā
Picture
There are many doorways into meditation. The right practice will depend upon your temperament, experience and daily life.
We might explore:
-
Beginning or rebuilding a meditation practice
- Breath awareness
- Concentration
- Working with restlessness
- Meditation for steadiness
- Creating a realistic personal practice.

The aim is not to force the mind into silence. It is to cultivate a steadier, kinder relationship with your inner landscape.

Deep Rest, Sleep and Yoga Nidrā
Picture
Rest is a biological need, but it is also a skill that many of us must gently relearn.
These sessions can include:
- Practices for better sleep
- Breathwork for regulation
- Gentle movement to release
- Guided relaxation
- Body scanning and pratyāhāra
- Support for waking during the night
- Creating a personal rest ritual.

You'll leave with practices that feel manageable. Sometimes the important practice is not learning to do more, but to soften.

Sanskrit, Mythology and Mantra
Picture
Yoga holds a rich world of language, sacred sound, story and symbol. These sessions offer space to explore that world slowly and thoughtfully.
We could focus on:
- Sanskrit pronunciation and meaning
- Philosophical themes & stories
- Mantra pronunciation, meaning and context
- Connecting story, sound and meditation

Teachings will not be reduced to slogans. We'll honour the cultural roots while remaining curious about what they illuminate in life.

Let's Talk about getting started
"As a student yoga teacher, I felt it was important to enhance my Sanskrit knowledge and refine my pronunciation. Having benefited from the rich knowledge Lauren weaves into her Rhythm and Ritual membership, I felt drawn to learn from her on a one-to-one basis. Therefore, Lauren guided me through two introductory sessions on Sanskrit pronunciation. The sessions were customised to my own learning desires, and I was generously provided with slides and recordings to refine my pronunciation. The rules of Sanskrit were explained in an accessible and clear way that I could absorb without feeling overwhelmed. Learning Sanskrit can feel daunting, but Lauren created a space where I felt safe to ask questions and practice pronunciation with support, patience and encouragement.  I would highly recommend one-to-one guidance from Lauren. She was generous with sharing her knowledge, her enthusiasm was infectious and I was met exactly where I was at. The sessions were above and beyond what I hoped for. Thank you for your generosity and support with my ongoing learning."
