Sounds wonderful
Welcome Soul Searcher,

The Hanumān Cālīsā isn't a mantra as you may know, but more a stotra (devotional hymn). It's a map of devotion, courage, humility, discernment and purpose.
Through its verses, Hanumān becomes more than a mythological figure. He becomes a living expression of what is possible when strength is guided by love, and the individual heart is offered to something greater.

Across forty weeks, we will move slowly through the Hanumān Cālīsā, meeting one verse at a time.
*No previous knowledge of Sanskrit or the Hanumān Cālīsā is needed. You do not need to sing confidently or memorise quickly, only curiosity, consistency and a willingness to return.

I will be teaching alongside Vivek Paṇḍit jī in India, bringing together language, tradition, mythology, philosophy and embodied practice.
Vivek is a practising paṇḍit and Sanskrit scholar. He has studied formally for six years, continuing his studies, and recently completed a Master's degree in Sanskrit Literature. His knowledge of Sanskrit and the North Indian language traditions surrounding the Awadhi of the Hanumān Cālīsā allows us to explore the text beyond translation alone.

Together, we will learn how to pronounce each verse, explore its words and meanings, uncover the stories and philosophy surrounding it, and ask how its teachings might be lived.

This is not about learning a sacred text by heart.
It is about discovering what the words might awaken in the heart.

Let's go

What to Expect..

Each week we'll explore the language of the mantra with curiosity, care and growing confidence.
Our Weekly Practice:

E
ach thirty-minute session will follow a steady ritual structure, including:
- Guided pronunciation and recitation

- IAST transliteration
- Word-by-word meaning
- Mythological and philosophical context
- Reflection on lived experience
- A simple practice drawn from prāṇāyāma, mudrā, mantra or meditation
- Gradual linking of each verse with those already learned
Our Explorations:
- The relationship between strength and humility
- How devotion can sharpen discernment
- What it means to place our abilities in service
- How courage and tenderness coexist
- The relationship between sacred sound, memory and attention
- How philosophy becomes embodied through repetition and practice
- Breath by breath, verse by verse, week by week.

Why Two Teachers?
Translation can tell us what a verse says. It cannot always reveal everything a word carries. Vivek brings the perspective of a practising paṇḍit, Sanskrit scholar and native speaker immersed in the linguistic and devotional world surrounding the text. I bring my own study and teaching of yoga, mythology and embodied philosophy, exploring how these teachings can move from something we understand into something we live.

"I have just practised the replay, oh my, that was so beautiful, I absolutely loved it and I could listen to Lauren chanting all day long! Thank you so much for sharing, I can't even begin to tell you how that has made me feel!"
