Welcome Divine One..
You may know that mythology is a lifelong passion of mine. I find the stories eloquently timeless and connect us to a universal and unending essence we all share. Mythology has allowed us to understand our place in this world for millennia, why stop now? Over this year long course we'll focus our awareness onto one of Yoga's main divine beings, from Saraswatī and Šiva to Hanumān and Tārā. Each offering a unique peek into the divine, from soft and nurturing, cosmically creative and rebellious to strong and universally powerful. For one weeknight evening per month we'll indulge in silent time to meditate on the values, core teachings and qualities of each being. Followed by a movement practice to embody their message and we'll end with learning a mantra to carry them forward in our hearts. If the spiritual essence of yoga has always called to you, but you'd perhaps like a way to physically, mentally and emotionally connect - this course is definitely for you. The classes will be taught live via zoom, with lifetime access to replays, a booklet to accompany each exploration and remind you of the wisdom and mantras. What to Expect..
Each week we'll explore a being of yoga's mythology, their timeless teachings, wisdom and how we can embody them.
Week 1:
Ganesha - All journeys begin with Ganesha. As the keeper of Vedic wisdom and remover of obstacles he's the spark. Week 2: Śākti - The cosmic divine feminine energy that lives within us all, ever manifesting, shifting and changing. Week 3:
Vishnu - The cosmic preserver of peace. Giving us the loving nudge to continue on the path we've set out on. Week 4: Sarasvatī - The cosmic creator. Muse of song, language and life's ultimate creative pleasures. Week 5: Hanumān - All gifted, mischievous, devoted and loving. Hanumān is a shining example of what it is to be a true friend. Week 6: Lakṣmī - A shimmering example of looking beneath the surface to find beauty, wealth and abundance in your life. |
Week 7:
Chandra - The moon, keeper of the exilir of immortality and universal healer. Week 8: Dūrga - The first warrior goddess, slayer of lies, demons and trust in one's abilities. Week 9: Krishna - Playful, beloved, wise. Krishna's divine existence plays like a human life, with all it's phases, changes and wonder. Week 10: Kāli - Devourer of demons, goddess of time, destruction and unbound feminine power. Week 11:
Shiva - The destroyer, but in a nice way. Bringing welcome change when necessary and calling us to celebrate it! Week 12: Tārā - Ultimate female rebel. The first female buddha and ancient champion of women's rights. |
This course will contain some movement but won't be a full yoga class. We'll have seated time in conversation and writing.
Lauren is a knowledgeable, positive and jovial yoga teacher and has a beautiful singing voice. I always look forward to her end of class mantra and meditative reflections.
